Initiated by Academic Medical Centre Sdn Bhd and the Public-Private Partnership Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department, Perdana University was formally introduced in 2011. The university’s founding chancellor, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, is currently Malaysia’s prime minister. Because of our solid collaboration with the Malaysian government, we are dedicated to providing programs of the highest caliber. As partners with globally recognized agencies, universities, and organizations, Perdana University provides top-notch programs that meet and exceed international standards. 

We make sure that all of our programs satisfy the standards of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and other professional accrediting agencies since we are dedicated to excellence in all that we do. A primary source for information and research is the Perdana University Library. While keeping a collection of essential textbooks and reference materials in printed versions, its design is enhanced by an assortment of e-books and online databases. With fifty internet-connected PCs, the E-Library is a popular spot for students to access online resources and listen to self-study programs. Our library’s resources and virtual learning tools facilitate self-directed learning. Two Clinical Academic Centers of Perdana University are situated in the center of Seremban and Kuala Lumpur, respectively. 

Students undergoing clinical posts at the General Hospitals of Kuala Lumpur and Seremban benefit from clinical tutorial sessions facilitated by these centers. The centers are also utilized for Perdana University medical students’ exams. Perdana University’s Student Services Unit helps students with housing, transportation, and welfare. Under the Student Services Unit, the International Student Officer helps international students with things like applying for visas and getting picked up from the airport. Students can relax from their busy schedules at the Student Lounge’s indoor sports facilities. There is now a badminton court, board games, foosball, futsal, darts, and other amenities available. Attending Perdana University can be a period of personal growth and exploration. The Perdana University Counseling Unit offers advice and assistance to students throughout what may be a challenging period. A professional interaction between a person seeking guidance on a particular issue and a licensed counselor is the basis of counseling. 

Students can be guaranteed that the Counseling Unit will treat every correspondence with the utmost secrecy. Every year, the Perdana University Research Day is organized by the Perdana University Centre for Research Excellence (PU-CRE) to encourage student research. Students showcase the results and developments of their research at the event. In addition, there will be more research-related events that staff and students can take part in, like research presentations, ethical awareness, and conducting research sessions responsibly. Awards for excellence in student research are also given out in a category. The former Malaysian prime minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Razak, presided over the university’s launch and the medical program, and Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was named the institution’s founding chancellor. 

The first vice-chancellor and chief executive of Perdana University was Dato’ Pahlawan Dr. R. Mohana Dass. Formerly, the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) served as the temporary home of Perdana University. Since then, the university has moved, in 2020, to Wisma Chase Perdana in Damansara Heights. The University has been able to lead research in fields like cardiovascular, diabetes, cancer, CNS disorders, HPV vaccination, and avian influenza thanks to the many research funding that it has received from national institutions through its esteemed staff. An exceptional and robust cooperation exists between Perdana University and The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. The benefits of this collaboration in terms of teaching and learning have substantially enhanced the students’ experiences.
