On November 15, 2009, the Diabetic Association Medical College Faridpur opened for business and accepted students for the 2009–2010 academic year. As an establishment of the Faridpur Diabetic Association (FDA), the Faridpur Diabetic Association Medical College is overseen by a Governing Body. Remarkably, Bangladesh’s second “International Diabetes Federation” member since 2009 is the Faridpur Diabetic Association. 

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sanctioned this medical college, which is connected to the University of Dhaka and has been acknowledged by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC). As the teaching hospital, it is associated with the Diabetic Association Medical College Hospital Faridpur, a tertiary care facility that was founded in 1985 and offers clinical services in almost every field of medicine.
