One of the best medical colleges in Russia is Izhevsk State Medical Academy. The college, a government-run medical facility in the Russian Federation, was founded in 1933. The “ISMU” faculty of dentistry was established in 1952. It was established following the union of the Irkutsk State Medical Institute and Irkutsk Dental Institute. The pediatric faculty first began classes in 1982.
The State Inspectorate for Certification of Educational Institutions of the State Committee for Higher Education of the Russian Federation held the State Certification to Assess the Quality of Training in 1992, and Irkutsk State Medical Institute passed it. Irkutsk State Medical Institute was granted “university” status in 1995.
The institution established the Faculty of the Pre-University Tutorial in 1996; it was renamed the Center of the Pre-University Tutorial in 2008. A professional retraining institute for specialists opened its doors in 1997.
The “Management in Health Care, Medical Law, and Medical Biochemistry” faculty was first created in 2004. Irkutsk State Medical University successfully completed attestation and state accreditation in 1997, 2002, 2007, and 2012. Through attestation, ISMU validated its standing as a university.
By joining the federal state institution of secondary vocational education “Irkutsk Medical School (College) with the subsequent foundation of the Institute of nursing education based on the attached separate structural unit, No395-p University is reorganized, as per a decree of the government of the Russian Federation dated October 23, 2010.

- Students must have passed the NEET exam.
- The student must have reached the age of 17 on 31 December of the year of admission.
- The candidate must have completed the 12th grade with at least 65% from a regular board.
- Students must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 12th grade.

The institution offers a dormitory facility on its campus for international students. It is required that you share a room with other students. The sharing system is used to assign hostel rooms. Late-night departures from the hostel are strictly prohibited. Students can get a permission letter to leave if there is a need for urgency or if something urgent needs to be done. You may rent an apartment in Irkutsk, which will come furnished and equipped with some essential appliances like a fridge, microwave, TV, and washer. It is advised that students share an apartment they rent with other students to make the rent more reasonable.
