The biggest and most famous medical university in Iran is Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). In September 2008, Dr. Lankarani, Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, referred to TUMS as a national leader in research, having a significant advantage over peer universities. It was established in 1851 as a division of Dar ol-Fonoon and then amalgamated into the University of Tehran in 1934. It located in Tehran, close to the main campus of the University of Tehran. It was taken out of the University of Tehran by legislative act in 1986 and incorporated into the newly established Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education. 

TUMS has been acknowledged as one of the leading research institutions in Iran, receiving about 300 billion Rials in government funding for research. The university offers 290 undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree (short course) programs that train over 13,000 students, 40% of whom are women. The university publishes 58 magazines, some of which are in collaboration with academic organizations, and has 11 schools, 16 teaching hospitals, over 44 libraries, and more. The National Museum of Medical Sciences History is also managed by the organization. TUMS Premier Status has been awarded by the Accreditation Service for International Colleges and Universities (ASIC UK). 

In addition, it has Iran’s largest virtual school, as well as the country’s biggest schools for nursing and midwifery, allied medical sciences, public health, dental, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and nutritional sciences and dietetics. This university is in charge of more than a hundred specialized research centers, which include the following: Trauma, Hematology and Oncology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Reproductive Health, Urology, Immunology, Asthma and Allergy, Rheumatology, Audiology, Digestive Disease, Skin Diseases, and Leprosy.

TUMS offers a wide range of academic spaces outside of classrooms, libraries, and labs. Numerous organizations hold a variety of conferences and meetings on a range of topics and in a variety of professions each week. You can look for and take part in comparable events.   • Students must have passed the NEET exam.
  • The student must have reached the age of 17 on 31 December of the year of admission.
  • The candidate must have completed the 12th grade with at least 65% from a regular board.
  • Students must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 12th grade.

Step 1: Choose your program and fill out the application form.

Step 2: Fill in the visa invitation inquiry form.

Step 3: Get all the required documents and mail them to the university along with the above forms.

Step 4: You will receive an invitation letter within 30 days after approval from the university.

Step 5: Apply for a student visa and come to the university after you get the visa.

Step 6: Upon arrival at the university, students must pass the entrance exam for admission.

Step 7: If you have passed the entrance exam, sign a contract with the university to become a student of the university.

Step 8: Pay the tuition fee along with any other required fees.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences provides its students with first-rate housing in two modern, recently constructed residence halls. Each room has a desk, a couch set, closets, beds, drawers, and chairs in proportion to the number of students. Every room has wireless and hardwired data ports for internet access, along with a television. Every apartment contains a kitchen that is shared by the student occupants, along with a shared laundry and ironing board. Employees with training handle upkeep and cleaning. 

The lobbies of each dorm are furnished with couches and armchairs, creating a communal space for students to congregate and mingle. In addition, there are prayer rooms located in each of the halls, cyber rooms equipped with laptops and fast internet access, individual lockers, and sports rooms furnished with an array of fitness and sporting goods. Students can participate in a diverse residential learning environment that promotes personal development in our international living halls.
